Motorists using Highway 30 are alerted that construction on the bridge over Hardin Creek about one mile east of Jefferson will limit traffic to one lane for the next three weeks or so.
A crew from Kramer and Associates is removing one-half inch of concrete and laying a new layer to prolong the lifespan of the bridge. Work is being done on the eastbound lane first. Travelers will use only the westbound lane to cross the bridge.
Portable traffic lights have been placed to allow traffic to travel in only one direction at a time. Motorists are asked to be aware, to be careful, and to obey construction zone speed limits as they drive through the construction zone.
The completion date for the project is weather dependent.
